About ShelfLifeFacts
ShelfLifeFacts answers one question per food: how long can I keep it here, how do I know it has gone bad, and what do the official sources actually say?
It is run by EPE Tech Solutions. We collect storage times from USDA FoodKeeper, the FDA, CDC and university extension services, show where each number comes from and when we checked it, and show both sides when the sources disagree.
ShelfLifeFacts is not affiliated with USDA, FDA or CDC, and nothing here is medical advice. When in doubt, throw it out.
How the content is made
The data is gathered and the explanations are drafted with AI tools. Every sentence is then checked against the official text we saved, and a person spot-checks pages before each deploy. A time that no official source states is never filled in: the cell says Not stated. The method page describes each step.
Updates and corrections
Every page shows the date we last checked its sources. When we learn that an official page has changed, or a reader reports an error, we read the source again, correct the page and update that date. We do not change a number unless an official source states it. To report an outdated number, a broken source link or a missing food, write to contact@shelflifefacts.com.
How the site is funded
ShelfLifeFacts is funded by EPE Tech Solutions. It has no ads and no affiliate links today. If that changes, the disclosure page will say so before the first link goes live, and money will never change a storage time, a source or a check date.
